Obviously tonight’s game against the Celtics is a huge one for us. We’re tied with them in the loss column and they have two more wins than us. We need to beat them to get a tie in the season series, which would help us if we finish tied at the end of the regular season.
Our goals are to win 60 games (which would be the most a Magic team has ever won) and get the best seed that we can. We hope to get the No. 2 seed ahead of the Celtics, but to me it really doesn’t matter who we play in the playoffs because it’s about us. If we take care of us and do what we’re supposed to do, we’ll be just fine.
We want to play well against the Celtics because we’re still looking to earn the respect we think we deserve. We’re maturing as a team. A lot of people have counted us out the past few years and we feed off of that as a team.
We’re getting better and hopefully one day we’ll get respect around the league. What it is going to take is us demanding respect from every team that we play. I like what we have here on our team. There are a couple of areas that we have to work on to make us a great team, but we’re making those steps. Sometimes you have to crawl before you walk.
Maybe a big win against the Celtics will give us the respect nationally that we feel we deserve. Wish us luck.
Peace. — DWIGHT
Whats up Dwight? I live in Orlando and go to UCF. I have to say that I have watched a lot of your games this season and it really pisses me off that you guys arent getting the respect that you deserve. Obviously if Jameer played the entire season the Magic would be in first place hands down and would get the respect that you guy deserve…but thats how the game goes. Rafer is balling out and I do not see why the Magic cant get a win tonight. Ill be watching! good luck.

cool man lets go man lets bring the house down Go magic!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on D, do you really think getting a win tonight will earn us respect. Let me remind you, Game 1 against Cleveland we completely destroyed them in the second half, we also blew the second game with them and should have beatin them in their house. Yes we havent played the Celts too well but we can still tie up the season series. We swept many teams including the Lakers and the Spurs. How much more do they want??? We are NOT respected no matter what we do. How bout we shut everyone up, take everyone by surprise and win the CHAMPIONSHIP. Lets go D, get us a win and lead us into the playoffs.
I have to say, tonight’s game is going to be a great one. I was born in Springfield, MA- the birthplace of basketball and the hall of fame, and I have always supported the hometeam. But seeing I live in Georgia and I’m a supporter of you and your team, it going to be a struggle figuring out who to cheer for ( I guess my neighbors won’t have to hear me yelling at the tv tonight…lol). I have even decided to show up fashionably late to one of my bestfriend’s birthday party just to watch the game at its full length. With all of that being said, Do you and good luck, and you have the respect of me and my family…

yeah man… this game will be intense. I wish both teams luck, and make it a good, clean, fair game. hopefully the refs are fair too. I am a C’s fan, but i am a big fan of yours, Dwight. Go Celtics!
Go Magic!! Whahha
Just keep doing what you’re doing Dwight and the respect will come. Remember, even Michael Jordan’s Bulls did not earn their “respect” until they finally got past the Pistons.
What a MAGIC win! Let’s get a championship, Dwight!
Well, I’ll say this….GREAT game tonight. Ya got a little heated early with Bill Walker but didn’t get stupid and cooler heads prevailed. Gotta say though, Orlando didn’t play well again but squeaked by with the win. All in all, I’ve never thought Orlando was disrespected. The knocks on Orlando are a lock down defender on the perimeter and a crunch-time go-to scorer. Tonight team defense won the game (the block on Pierce with time winding down) and our man Dwight’s ridiculous work around the rim (especially in the first half). Y’all haven’t won anything yet, that’s why respect is always hard to come by even with tonight’s win it hasn’t changed anything. Whoever is in the Eastern Conf finals this year it’s gonna be epic…..ANY combination of Cleveland, Boston or Orlando is impressive to me. I’m a die hard C’s fan (like….bleed green die-hard), but I’ll watch ANY combination of those teams any day of the week. Good luck in the rest of the season! Hope not to have to play you again this year! lol
You are so crazy this night!
I even can not belive that you only play 26minutes!
Your performance are perfect!
Dwight I just want to say, incase you don’t hear it enough THANK YOU for being such a great role model in the community and the most professional player in the NBA. It takes a real man to not fall into MVP nonsense like after the game last night. It shows why true Magic fans like myself appreciate and respect you so much as a person and a player! Please never leave, we need you and believe in you. Lets bring it home.
