When people up here in Cleveland aren’t talking about LeBron (and that’s really rare) they are mentioning the backboard that I broke the other night in Game 1. I didn’t even know that it happened at first and when I heard everybody yelling, `Ohhhhhh,’ I thought my dunk must have been nasty on the replay. But then I saw whole thing had come down. After that I thought we should have just played half court for a while until they could fix the goal.
You’ve got to realize that I’ve broken a few backboards in my day. I guess I’m just too dang strong for my own good. I have four under my belt now. I’ve broken the glass, rim, everything. The first time was on one of my teammates in high school. The second time was a SLAM photo shoot. And the third time was at the YMCA in Atlanta. It’s funny to me when it happens and makes me feel all strong and swole up.
We have our minds on beating the Cavs again tonight and being greedy. We got one, but we didn’t come up her to get one win. We want ‘em both and that’s all guys have talked about. We know Cleveland will come up hungry tonight and we have to match that intensity.
We got some national love after winning the Boston series and getting Game 1 the other night, but we still have a lot to prove to people. We have to get this series and gain the respect of everyone around the league. I just think that if we play hard for 48 minutes, we should be able to do what nobody thinks we can do.
It still kind of feels like the LeBron Show up here and we’re just the background actors sometimes. When I look at TV all I see is everybody wanting to see LeBron and Kobe in The Finals. It should make us upset. We feel that we have a legitimate chance of winning a NBA championship. We have the right team, right coaching staff and players to do it. It’s not going to be easy and we have to take it. We have to believe that every night.
We’ve been under the radar all year and it’s motivated us. We’ve won one game, but that doesn’t mean anything. We want to gain everybody’s respect, but you do that by winning big games and series like this. We don’t want to take anything for granted after winning one game.
We’ll be ready tonight – believe that. We know what we gotta do.

Yeah, when that shot clock came down I was like, “DANG!!!” Funny stuff. But yeah, one win is good for sure, but you can’t be all proud about it. Still have three more to go. I’m EXCITED!!! Orlando is the closest basketball city to where I live and I’ve been watching yall all season. This has been GREAT so far! I know what you mean about the whole Kobe, LeBron thing. To me it’s a little ridiculous even though they are great players, but hopefully a next win will show people that, that matchup for the finals ISN’T a given. Good luck tonight! Romans 8:28 bay bay!

thats right dwight, no mercy tonight….its funny how no matter what you guys do to keep proving people you guys are the best team, no one believes you can beat the cavs. Use that as your motivation tonight, your the most underrated team in the league, so let them all be “witnesses” tonight and lets go home up 2. By the end of this series everyone will “Believe in Magic” I agree everyone is focused on a Lebron-Kobe match-up. Use that for motivation. I know you guys can beat Cleveland, you just have to keep your compusure (especially when calls aren’t going your way, which means no more technical fouls disagreeing with calls). Game 1 win was not a fluke. If everyone commits to defense and playing our game, we will do fine. We have owned Cleveland over the last 3 years but they don’t give us enough respect. It’s right here for you. To borrow an old slogan from past Magic years – WHY NOT US, WHY NOT NOW!!

Well, the YMCA backboard doesnt count. But, as I watch not only ya’lls game, but also the Nuggets and Lakers, I feel more like a witness to the downfalll of the hype. Me and my mom are always laughing when the shows and commecials come on cuz its just the beginning of the series, they have a long way to go before they see LeBron and Kobe, so they just need to leave those commercials and shows alone until they know it is going to happen, cuz right now…..it’s def. not guaranteed. Dwight… Here’s what magic fans need you to do. I know your boys with Lebron. Give him a call tell him to come play with you in 2010. Most dominate big man and best wing player in the game??? The magic would be the best dynasty EVER! I would predict no less than 8 straight championships. He would have to sacrifice some money, and so would you but when we are talking about he endorsements and millions you would still make with the magic it would barely put a dent in your wallets. It’ll be nice to see them cut down on their overdramatic cheerleading from the sidelines. I agree it’s irritating to watch the national media drool over a LeBron/Kobe final. Although, I keep hoping they continue to discount you guys as it puts more presuure on Clev and LA. At some point however, they will jump on the Magic bandwagon as they typically do…but just remember, they never believed as we do.
The word of the night is COMPETE! Compete for every shot, block, ball, pass, and basket. Let’s get up 2-ZIP and come home to the believers!

I keep saying it over and over again – I BELIEVE IN MAGIC! I may get funny looks but oh well! I’ll admit when I moved here 6 years ago I wasn’t claiming myself a MAGIC FAN … I would watch a game and leave it at that. Through the years I became a supporter (wasn’t going to jump on a band wagon and be scorned for it), and since then, I have become a fan … a fan that knows that anything is possible! I know this because I have a true passion for sports and I know you can be down but a lot and yet still persevere!!! ALL THE BEST TO THE TEAM – GOOD LUCK!!! =)

It always feels good to prove someone wrong who doubted U. There are going to be a lot of people eating their words, and recognizing exactly who U are & who Ur teammates are after this series.
As U said, everyone is trying to set the tone for a Kobe/Lebron Finals, but it’s NOT going to happen. I am not sure who is coming out of the West, but the Magic are definitely coming out of the East. As for King James; he can hold tight to his MVP trophy while relaxing on the couch as he WITNESS the Magic become the 08-09 Champs!
In this instance there isn’t anything wrong with being greedy. Shoot, ya’ll should be greedy for the next 3 games and shock everyone. Games 5 thru 7 (NO NEED)! Go ahead and sweep the Cavs! I don’t see the Cavs as competition; I just see them as opposition because this is the Magics’ series HANDS DOWN!!!

After watching the game tonight, I began thinking to myself that with every game that have either kobe, lebron, or paul pierce there will be some type of favoritism. Every time those 3 grown men make a ugly face the ref’s are calling every fouls left and right. Then williams throws the ball into howards back and receives no technical foul. This stuff is madness.
