CAN WE GET A BREAK AT HOME???

Well, we’re coming back home for a Game 6. Let’s just hope that we get a few more breaks back at Amway Arena than we did last night up in Cleveland. I gotta watch myself, but that was kinda crazy.

Ya’ll can look at the TV and tell me what ya’ll saw. I’m straight up and down on that sixth foul against LeBron and he gets the whistle. I didn’t even touch Z on my third foul in the third quarter but they say I hit him on the elbow.

I’m not going to lie – I’m frustrated with the calls that we’ve gotten in this series, but I can’t let it take me away from my focus. I know there’s nothing that I can do about it and I just have to stay aggressive even when stuff like that is going against us. I can’t worry about these calls that just tend to be going against me and I have to play my game.

It should have never come down to that stuff last night if we would have started the game better. They were making shots, like 67 percent in the first quarter, and we just weren’t getting any tough stops. And on offense, we turned the ball over way too much and that just let to even more easy baskets for them.

We fought back again in that second quarter, took a nice lead in the third and we were right there in the fourth. But LeBron killed us making plays and again those turnovers led to too many run-outs for them.

We have to try something different on LeBron because it’s just too easy for him now. He’s catching it in the sweet spot and it’s one dribble to the basket for him. We have to make it more difficult for him and make him take tougher shots.

They defended their homecourt here at The Q, and now it’s on us as a team to do the same back at Amway. Our crowd will be loud and behind us and I know we’ll play better. This game does nothing to shake our confidence. As long as we defend better, move the ball, run and get a few breaks we still feel like we’re going to win this series. There’s a lot of work left to be done and it won’t be easy, but we’ll be ready to get that one on Saturday night. Believe that!!!

Holla at ya’ll Saturday at Amway. Bring the noise for us. — DWIGHT

  7. anthony says:

All right Dwight it’s time to do this thing! Let’s do whatever it takes in order to win! Ignore the refs and concentrate, make the free throws, dive for the ball, pressure them, make them work for every single point! Let’s do this, send Cleveland home, let’s go Magic! Show that a TEAM is always superior than a good player, no matter how many calls the refs throw his way!

  8. Luis says:

Come on Dwight, tell the team to give it all they’ve got. You guys have to win tonight. There is no tomorrow. Dominate or win ugly, but win. Close them out, show the country what the Magic are made of!

  9. sean says:

Don’t listen to the haters. They are here posting because they are scared. They’re afraid the Cleveland Lebrons are going to fail (shoulda been a 4 game sweep anyway). They know the magic is the better team.

    Dwight,

Don’t let Queen Le Bron get into your head. You are loved here in Orlando, just go out and do your best, your fans will be here no matter what. I would love to see that arrogant Lebron lose. (walking in the way of the Magic Dancers rountine, please, that was rude). He needs humility. Just play Magic Basketball

  12. Chris - Orlando says:

  17. Dana Addis says:

Wow…NBA must have listened to you Dwight. Bennett Salvatore on the game tonight. He’s too old to see your after-whistle elbows when you lift up your hands, drop the ball, smile, and say, “He gets every call.” You gonna say that about Bynum and Gasol? What will you and Stan say in the post game against the Lakers? “Hope we get a call at Amway”…”Every time Kobe steps on the court it’s a foul.” You see Dwight…some of us are old school. We remember what it used to be like. Jabaar…Bird…Magic….MJ….never used to react the way you did in this series and it’s sad. True NBA fans like warriors in the finals – we like no-excuse guys. You won the damn series and still spent every minute of it crying foul. What would you have been like in the Roman arena? That’s a sight. Good luck to you and the Magic; you played awesome this entire series against my Cavs. I won’t be able to watch for obviously jealous reasons. I am proud of LBJ though, and you should take some lessons. Warrior. NEVER…AND I MEAN NEVER an excuse in post-game let alone call out officials. Sad. Can’t wait to see the title of your next blog: We Made it Past the Officials….

  18. kristen says:

you deserve to go to the finals dwight. take care of business. good luck. you’re awesome.

  19. Harber Fam says:

GO MAGIC!!!!! AWESOME GAME GUYS!!!! DWIGHT YOU SHOULD HEAR THE SPORTS COMMENTATORS ON ESPN – THEY ARE STILL TALKING CRAP!!!!! Saying – “was this a bad match up??” – like – WHAT?????? What the heck are they talking about – THE BEST TEAM WON – PERIOD!!!!! WE’RE BEHIND YOU GUYS ALL THE WAY TO THE WIN – KEEP THE FIRE BURNING!!! And, keep that great attitude & smile on your face!!!!

  20. Tina says:

Go Magic! I love you Dwight you’re Amazing!! The Magic can do it!! Bring it home for us. Ya’ll make Orlando proud! Thanks for hitting all the free throws tonight and giving it all you got and CONGRATS to you and the team on the big game!! Have fun and enjoy winning in LA!

  21. Jason says:

Ya’ll did it – you are the MAN Dwight.
Nike Basketball damn well better be working all night on putting together a Dwight puppet commercial!

  22. J the Drafter says:

Good job, Dwight! Congradulations on the wins, guys. You had a good game tonight. You know, I actually had a thought about the puppet commercials. It’s actually a little dated, since the Lakers defeated the Nuggets, but here’s my take on the Most Valuable Puppets.

LeBron and Kobe are at an outside basketball court, debating who’s better. Carmelo Anthony and you (Dwight) walk up to them and tell them you’re looking for some people for a baskeball game. LeBron and Kobe are dismissive and confident, and eagerly accept the challenge. You and Anthony call over the players on the Nuggets and Magic, and tell LeBron and Kobe to get their team. LeBron and Kobe look at eachother in panic and dismay.

Just my humble attempt at comedy. Again, great game, and good luck going against the Lakers. My jokes aside, I have heard they have a better supporting cast than the Cavs. Just go out there and do your best. Good luck!

  23. Kathy says:

    Dwight and Magic,
Let me say how proud I am of you. Your Father in Heaven is smiling at you and saying : Well done! Well done!
Don’t ever forget How you got this far. Playing agressive, yet humble. Trusting your teammates and respecting their God given abilities. Leave it all on the court; don’t hold it back.
You’re a Leader Dwight, I always knew this. Your Path has been cleared.
Are you ready?? Let the ride begin. . . one day at time, one game at a time.
    IT BELONG ONLY TO YOU!!!
You can do ALL things through Christ who strenghtens you. Phil 4:13
    Don’t EVER give up! :-)
GO MAGIC!!! GO ALL THE WAY! You deserve it.

  24. Mark Woodside says:

Dwight, great job tonight! That’s what should happen each night. You need to be touching the ball EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION. Way to play great along with the rest of the team. Now GO GET THEM LAKERS. And most of all keep giving the Glory to Jesus our Savior. He REALLY is the ONLY reason you guys have gotten this far. He’s given all of you guys great talents. Keep using them for the Lord Dwight and He will bless you in all you do. “Seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and ALL these things will be given unto you,” “Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart!” He knows how much you want this, keep fighting and stay strong in the faith my fellow brother in Christ. God bless you and the rest of the Magic. PEACE!

  25. Dana Addis says:

just saw your press conference. Classy…real…wish it was that way on the court.

  26. Gabby says:

YAAAA CONGRATS ON BEATING LEBRON AND CONTAINING HIM TO 25!!!
