We’re going to the NBA Finals!!!! Let me say that again so it can really soak in deep: WE’RE GOING TO THE NBA FINALS!!!!
I really believe that our fans thought we could do this, but nobody out there in the rest of the country thought we could get to this point and be playing for a championship. A lot of people laughed a couple of years ago when I talked about us winning that ‘ship a few years ago, but we’re the ones laughing right now.
And nationally, of course nobody picked us to beat Boston or even beat Cleveland. Every time I looked at TV and turned on ESPN it was all about Kobe and LeBron getting to the Finals. Now, ESPN talked to me last night after the game for its Sunday Conversation thing. Ya’ll gotta tune in and see it. Now, they are finally giving us some mad love.
My whole thought process going in to last night’s game was to dominate and don’t let Cleveland breathe. We really felt like we should have closed this series out on Thursday up in Cleveland, but we let it slip away. I was going to make sure that didn’t happen this time, so I went at their bigs right from the jump.
I’ve been telling everybody that we have the team and the talent to do this. When we run, rebound and defend, there aren’t many teams out there that can beat us.
I just tried really hard to make the right play against Cleveland. When they checked me 1-on-1, I attacked and tried to score. When they sent the double, I looked for my shooters and we made them pay all night. Ya’ll know I like to have fun and I’m usually laughing out there, but last night I was so focused and locked in it’s like I wasn’t letting anything get in my way.
It was so cool in the fourth quarter when the crowd was chanting M-V-P for me and they were singing na-na-na-nah to the Cavs. They were a really good team, but we just weren’t going to be denied.
Of course, I’m sure we’ll be the underdogs to the Lakers and nobody will think we have a shot at winning this series. But I believe and I know my teammates believe. We play the way we know how, and maybe we can make everybody out there across the country believe in the Magic.
Aiiiight ya’ll, I’m getting outta here for now, but we ain’t done yet. We’re going to the NBA Finals!!!! There’s still plenty of work to be done, but for one night we can celebrate that we’re one step closer to winning that championship.

I flew in from Atlanta just so I could be in the house when you won. You made the trip sooo worth it!! I taped the game and watched it again this morning. I saw about 3 different puppet commercials. LOL. I guess they knew they had to hurry up and use them all cuz the Magic was putting that nonsense to an end. GOOD JOB!!!

Living in SoCal, I’ve always been a Laker fan, but I honestly was rooting for you guys during the Celtics series & against the Cavs (especially Lebron!) as well. I’ve become a Magic fan now.
Now I don’t know who I want to win the Finals. But this will be a good match up; I’m so excited! Congrats again on the 40 points Dwight. You are the best!

Personally i think that Orlando has wayyy to many weapons and they have good defense i think that alot of ppl are underestimating them but just watch our Magic will pull through in 5 to 6 games. Well, well, well…we’ve done it boy’s!!! As someone who lived in Orlando for sixteen years and now attends The Ohio State University: Thank you! I “witnessed” the arrogance before game 1, at halftime of game 1 and after game 2. These desparate people started hoping for injuries and technical fouls after Game 4. I know there is still more work to be done but there has never been a better time to be from Orlando. GO MAGIC!

Congratulations on being the ECF champs! U definitely deserve it! U played EXCELLENT last night, the whole team played excellent last night. I kept telling people that the Magic had the East… I should’ve bet money! I so love the fact that U thanked God 1st & foremost!! He surely blesses the faithful.
When I found out that we (Sixers) we playing ya’ll in the 1st round of the post, I knew that our chances 4 advancement were pretty much shot. Once we were eliminated despite Ur absence, I knew that U guys were 2 be reckoned with. Going into both the Boston & Cleveland series I believed that U guys could & would win. I feel the same way about this series with the Lakers, I believe that U guys will be victorious. Enjoy the feeling of clinching the ECF championship & mentally prepare for the overwhelming joy of being the 08-09 NBA Champions because it’s just around the corner, this is Ur season!
