I really expected us to win last night and take this series back to L.A. where we’d have a chance to win the championship. Losing the way we did to the Lakers last night was hard because it’s difficult to see your dreams fade like that.
Of course, we wish a couple of things had gone differently in this series. If we had finished in Game 2 and Game 4, may be it would have been us trying to close out a fourth win last night win that ‘ship on our home court.
It was hard to do, but I stayed out there and watched the Lakers celebrate. Nobody wants to see another team celebrate on their homecourt, but me and ‘Meer stayed out there because we wanted to see it to make us hungrier the next time around.
And yes, there will be another time in the Finals for us. The NBA ain’t heard the last of the Magic in the Finals. I know nobody ever expected us to get this far at all this season, but maybe now people will see that we’re for real and we’re going to be good for several years to come.
Losing to the Lakers will hurt me for a long time. It might take me all summer to get over this one. But it will be fresh in my mind as soon as I get back in the gym and start working on my game. I know I have to get better and I’m going to do everything in my power to make myself a better player this summer.
To all you Magic fans out there, thanks for your support. We wanted to bring ya’ll a title, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be this year. We’ll be back again, and ya’ll have my promise that we’ll do this in Orlando real soon.

It was a disappointing loss, but you guys played hard and went further than most people thought you could. You are still my favorite player and the Magic is still my favorite team. You guys will get a championship because you’re a talented group of guys who work hard. As disappointing as the loss was you guys had a great season and will go on to have great careers. I can’t wait until next season so that I can cheer my Orlando Magic team on. GOOOOOO MAGIC!!!!
If you think about it, you had games 1 & 4, it’s all good you learn from mistakes and you get paid $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to do so…..relax enjoy your summer!!
Dwight, THANK YOU for your blogs! I know you have to be a very busy young man so to take the time to do what you do is unbelievable but very much appreciated by me and countless others. Thank you for making this the GREATEST season EVER. My husband & I have been season ticket holders from the beginning, 20 years ago, and this season was tops! I’ll never forget the night in the stands when we won the Eastern Conference Title against the Cavs – I’ll cherish that moment, forever! It was one helluva a ride! I can’t wait to see what you and the guys can accomplish next season!

I was sad that you guys lost but I was there with you the whole way! I watched every game and even though we didn’t win am still a big fan of the Magics! I live in Orlando and I was watching the last game outside of the Amyway Arena where there was a lot of people watching it on a huge t.v.! It was a lot of fun and I know you can do it next time! You guys had an amazing season – regardless! Thank you for helping my girlfriend and I reconnect through my favorite pastime – we ended up buying season tickets to show our continued support! It was a sad loss, but also a great season. All of you worked together and went so far, and I am extremely proud of every single one of you. You brought our entire city together, and I would like to thank you for that. You have such an amazing spirit, and it’s so great to see someone who just loves to play the game the way you do. It was close but remeber Kobe Bryant’s weakness is a secret, he is selfish, he does not know how to share the ball…instead of Stan letting that be a strength…he stressed and panicked..everytime Kobe scored…once Kobe goes on a roll..let him keep going, eventually he’ll get tired and start missing, by then his teamates are out of rhythm, and are out of energy also…that is how you beat Kobe Bryant, the only way…he is too good, to intelligent to stop one on one. Let him score.a team can never win a championship with just one player. Instead Stan forced him to pass, which is why you guys lost the series…..

Dwight Howard is a way too overated player. He isn’t in the stardom phase with King James, D-Wade and Kobe yet. He has lots of rooms to get improved and besides he will never win any championship, guarantee it, D-Howard will never win any championship. Anyone dare to bet with me? This guy has a poor free throw shooting, can’t make jump shots. Guarantee Cavs and King James will win next year easily and convincingly.
