MY TALK WITH BILL RUSSELL

During the Finals I had a chance to spend some time with one of my idols, Bill Russell. I felt so lucky to have a chance to get advice from such a great man and basketball player. Here’s the video:

  3. Rachel aka Lois lane says:

It’s a blessing to see a young man these days, willing to listen. The Good book says that, a fool hateth instruction, and you are proving that your know fool. A wise man learn from other peoples victories as well as their mistakes. I am proud of you as a young black man, and the way you carry yourself in the public eye, than you being a baller. That’s not to say I don’t think you got game, because you got game! :)

With great admiration and respect, Rachel

Hey I’ve admired YOUR ARMS and your TALENTS ALL SEASON!!! Than I find out that you’re half my age, or should I say 13 years younger than me. HOWEVER THIRTEEN IS A LUCKY NUMBER, RIGHT?????

  6. LaJoi P. says:

    Hey D: 2 Things

I’m all about having fun! My girls make fun of me and ask me “did you have a drink or something” – I don’t drink!!

Having Joy consoles and comforts the Soul.

Character, Leadership and Faith is what anchors the Soul and makes you Who UR N God!

It’s easy to hear something, but it takes discipline to sit it down and truly LISTEN.

The Trinity (God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit) along with our Elders (Bill Russell) keep us on the right track! Awesome!

    Peace
    LaJoi AKA Dimples

One for your memory book….you both bear the same manner: confident, kind and generous (giving of yourself). Meeting him is not just lucky for you. Keep carrying yourself forward the way you do and good things will keep finding you.

Not sure if you had a chance to catch his interview on Real Sports with Bryant Gumble..its a must see. He’s been through so much in the past for the sake of basketball. This man is to be respected. Glad you had a chance to chat with him. He is truly amazing.

  10. Gina Maria says:

Never been into basketball. Invited to a Wizard Orlando game in DC back in March. Then I saw no. 12 and said omg who is that fine young man. Ever since that game, I have been watching you. I even have confessed, I would be a cougar for your fine a_ _. Keep up the great work and if you ever seek a real woman, give me a call.

This is one for your memory book…a nice one. You both seem to have kindness, gentleness and giving spirits. It wasn’t just lucky for you to meet him. You keep giving of yourself and good things find their way back to you.

Revising comment made July 3, the 5th sentence down should’ve read, “You prove that there is more to you, than you being a baller.” Sometimes I can be a stickler for detail.

    Sometimes! :)

Hey Dwight just wanted to plant a seed for you to talk with the Org about some available free agents. I think a good pickup for this team would be Shawn Marion. He brings much needed rebounding (9 per game as a SF/PF). A prime perimeter defender, 3 point shooter and a guy who can run the break. I think he would fit in great for our team and our style of play. Plus there was a year there with Phoenix where he played the PF position and he played it rather well.

With Rasheed going to the Celtics we’re running out of big name free agents that will help us make a championship run and I think Marion could be a difference maker. I also like the possible addition of Brandon Bass. The more help we get you on the boards and interior defense the more formidable we will be in a playoff run next year. Let me know what you think! I want a championship!! I cant wait for next year. Go get em!!
