What’s up y’all? I’ve been working on this pitch for a reality TV show called Dwight Across America. Last week I got a chance to pitch the show to some execs at Warner Horizon (the reality TV show arm of Warner Bros.). Here’s video of me coming out of the pitch meeting:
Basically, I want to jump into a really big customized tour bus (the kind the rock stars use) with a few of my friends and take a trip from the East Coast to the west coast.
I want to get out and meet some of the 3 million fans that voted for me in last years all-star game as well as some of the 1 million folks that follow me on twitter and facebook. Actually, my plan is to find 12 really cool American spots between my home in Orlando and the shores of California.
I would love for fans across America to write in about their state, their city, or their town. What’s cool about where you live? What’s fun to do there? Maybe I will make it one of my choice locations. Gator Farms, Working Farms, Ant Farms,..you got the biggest ball of yarn? the fattest cow, I want to see it all.
I don’t just want to meet America, I want to do my part to help my fellow man as well. What President Obama started we can all continue. Yes We Can (even if he didn’t pick my team to win). Tell me your stories and ideas for the show.

Hey I dont know if you’re going to read this, but I just want to know when you will be in Memphis, Tn? I promise I’m not like an obsessed fan or anything; I just love the way you are and your sense of humor. You are a true humble player and I think that’s a great thing. Even if you don’t have the time to right back just know that I truly believe that you will go even farther in life than you already have.

I think that would be a great idea for you to take a trip from east coast to west coast. You have many fans all over including myself. I am from the Chi (chicago) and there are plenty of things to do here. Lots of great night clubs and attractions, including the navy pier which is located at the lake front of Lake Michigan. Check us out and come and see for yourself. And by the way you are a comedian, such a naturally funny guy!!! I wish you all the luck in your journey. Lakesha, your #1 fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dwight. Of course first things first you gotta do orlando before you venture out .. home is where the heart is and we got disney world, and gator farms haha.. this is where the grass root of your fans live. So make sure you visit a spot around here and let the fans know where it is.

You should come to St Louis MO. Gateway to the West, the Arch, is a great icon. Plus, it’d be hilarious to see you try and squeeze into the elevator to go to the top of the arch. Plus, MO has Mark Twain, best American writer. I know you don’t drink, but we also have Budweiser, and did I mention… RIBS! St Louis Style!

I think that this is a great idea.. you should come to Coffeyville Kansas because this is where the Dalton brothers where brought down…. Also 20 minutes north is the famous little house on the prairie, and 10 minutes from there is the FAMOUS YELLOW BRICK ROAD.. there is no place like home lol!@!
May I just Phoenix, or as some of us locals call it, “Hell on Earth”, mainly during the June-Sept time frame. Of course, as you know, Phoenix is the home of the Phoenix Suns, Cardinals, and Diamondbacks. As for what to do here, you have a few water parks and mountains (South Mountain and Camelback). You have the Grand Canyon to the north of us, and there is an ostrich farm between here and Tuscon. Tombstone is to the lower west of us, and of course, Mexico not far away. I would love to see you if you did decide to roll threw.
Well, a good start to this trip would be the birthplace of freedom, Philadelphia. Its my town, and Id be glad to take you to see the liberty bell , the symbol of freedom. We can also get Philly’s world famous cheesesteaks and see the legendary Spectrum (america’s showplace)… if it is still standing (due to be destroyed in Nov 2009). Theres 1 thing every american has deep within themselves, and that is FREEDOM. Freedom that all started with a idea in 1776. A city with so much heritage and history would be an ideal start for this tour… good idea Dwight, hope I can help.

It sounds like a great idea! Hopefully WB will recognize just how much you appeal to ALL people, all ages, and economic back grounds. You don’t come across as just another baller trying to get paid. People gravitate towards you. You seem approachable with a (boy next door) kind of charm.

I think thats a wonderful idea! But your leaving out NYC. So many things we have here especially the FAMOUS APOLLO THEATER. You should come to NY, it’s a great place. My city, is a little boring but NYC is where it’s at

I have no Idea if you know where Minnesota is? lol JK…Anywayz Minneapolis is a beautiful city and we have cool people..The mall of America is the biggest mall in the states and if u came u can check it and tell ur grand kids about it one day. We have lots of nice things but it gets really cold out here lol…..I voted for u and wanted u to win the championship but u r still a winner and trust that u will win very soon.. I think ur reality show will rock…Just think about Minnesota and if u don’t make it I totally get it, this country is big. Im not sure if you’ll make it south to Miami, but I don’t think that the first stop leaving your home in Orlando should be your the birth place of Dwight Howard. Your reality show would be great starting at “The World’s Most Famous Beach”, Daytona Beach. We also have the Speedway and the Daytona Experience. TV is so boring now that basketball season is over. Go Magic.
Kansas…yes it sounds boring…and for the most part it is lol but there is one time of year that it is the absolute best place to be!! COLLEGE BASKETBALL SEASON!! Kansas City has the College Basketball Experience, which is heck’a fun (and any basketball fan should come visit)! But the real reason you should venture through Kansas is to make a stop at a University of Kansas Men’s Basketball game!! It is by far the best place to watch a basketball game in the country!
For other fun things to do just ask! There is plenty to do and see in the Kansas City area.
I think that is a great idea because I’m your number 1 fan and I would love to tell you about where I’m from and what’s so special about the dirty south. ATL baby !!!!

I think your idea for a show is a great idea. You should come to Houston, Texas. I think it would be great to meet some of the people from the states you visit and allow at least one of them to hang with you for a day or something. Being involved with the fans is great. I would definitely watch the show and more importantly I would love to be a part of it. I believe that you will be very successful in what you choose to do as long as you keep your focus on God. God has a great plan for your life. Continue to seek him and you will be even greater than you are now!

you should visit Area 51 outside Vegas and eat at the Little Ale-inn. You could go to Roswell, New Mexico and continue the alien theme. You could also visit the Smokey the Bear museum in New Mexico and the spot where Billy the Kid was killed in New Mexico. White Sands is in New Mexico as well. It’s all on your way to sunny California! Give it a thought.
I will watch your show no matter where you go!
Also, you must visit Metropolis in Illinois. There is a big Superman statue there and since you are superman after all……you must visit!
I live in Baltimore MD…Here, honestly, there isn’t much about it BUT I think that could be the twist about coming here. Baltimore is known for more negative than positive. We are known for the drugs and ranked in the top cities for the murder rate. There are a lot of guys, girls, and people who need an inspiration. What is also weird about Baltimore is that many celebrities do not seem to represent it once they make it and move from here. We have a few celebs from here such as Monique, Jada Pinkett, Mario (the singer), and even Sisqo (Yeah, he’s a THROWBACK). With DC being so close to here I know that DC may out beat us in your decision, but maybe you could simply swing past here before you move on to your next state or city. When it comes to thinking of something fun to do I am sure we could cook up a fun and interesting scenario for you to do in Baltimore. In a matter of fact you could even grab up Dajuan Summers. He was just drafted to the Pistons. This is his hometown. Maybe he could help you out with a thing or two in “B-more”. I think you would be sort of like a breath of fresh air for us instead of everyone in other states thinking about “The Wire” when someone mentions Baltimore. I think that if you were to come here the city of Baltimore would appreciate it and well…so will I.

You have a great following right here. We your Orlando fans, would love you to start your tour here. Like start somewhere where your fans can greet you and “send you off” for your trip. You have a great sense of humor and its a great idea. It will probably only increase Orlando Magic fan base
You should come to Gary,IN. I know you would love to come to see The Jacksons old home and the high school some of them went. Gary is known for some terrible things, but we do have important people in society that comes out of here. It’s really nothing you can do here, but it would be interesting for yourself just to explore something different.
not sure if you still read these but, I was wondering how your reality show pitch to Warner Horizon was coming along. You and your boys are crazy and I think it will be hilarious. Hope you guys make it to Michigan along the way. Us northern states need to be shown love too!

You should let me pitch my reality show idea to you and then we can run with it together. It’s an athletically based show and whether you decide to pick it up or not it’s going to go big. I think you should come to Knoxville, TN in the fall to a University of Tennessee home football game. You have never seen so much orange and white in one place….its awesome!! I love sports and being in a football stadium with over 100,000 screaming fans is a rush I think every sports fan needs to take part in!! So I welcome you to the Volunteer State and to Rocky Top!!

I think you should come to Cleveland, Ohio. Im sure we could find plenty for you to do on your stay here. Your trip would be amazing. We have great attractions and wonderful people here! and your #1 fan in the world…ME!!! Oh…what a girl would do to finally meet you…but honestly, i think you would inspire a lot of talent in the up and coming future atheletes. Believe it or not a lot of good people have came out of Cleveland..We need somethings to boost up this city outside of the Cavs, Rock and Roll, and new Casions they are set to build..and i think youd be just the star we need!!
