Superbowl Sunday, McDonalds and Going back to South Africa

Heeeeyyyyyy worrrrrld!!! How are you guys? Hope ya’ll got to watch our game against the Celtics Sunday afternoon before the Super Bowl came on. In that third quarter we played about as well as we have all season. I think somebody said we had a 19-0 stretch in that quarter that completely turned the game around.

Afterward everybody was asking me if that was a statement game for us because it was on national TV and it was the Celtics and it was in Boston and yad yada yada. But I think it was a statement to ourselves about how good we can be when we play together, talk on defense and share the ball like we did. When the ball is going in and out, that’s where we’re getting open shots and clean looks on the post. Hopefully, it was a learning game for us.

I know how everybody out there loves the commercials during the Super Bowl, so I hope ya’ll got to see my new McDonald’s commercial with LeBron just before the game came on.

It was pretty tight, huh??? Ya’ll like when ya boy rips the rim down and the backboard just explodes with glass everywhere? That was so much fun to make. I would love to do something like that during a game. I did shake the shot clock loose last year during a playoff game in Cleveland, but I’ve never shattered a backboard during a game. I’ve broken a few rims when I was in high school, but nothing like blowing up the backboard.

Something else for ya’ll to watch out for: Adidas is gonna send me to South Africa this summer to cover the World Cup as a member of the media. They want their basketball guys interviewing soccer players and mixing and matching the sports. I think it will be a lots of fun, but I’ve got to do a lot of research because I don’t know the first thing about soccer, ya’ll?

A fan at our game on Friday night gave me an autographed jersey from Brazil’s soccer team, but I don’t have a clue who it is. I still put it up on my wall of fame with all of the other jerseys that I have.

Well, we got another game Monday against New Orleans. Then, we’ll be in Chicago and Cleveland before the break. All ya’ll little homies watch out for me coming to a city near you. And then thanks to ya’ll’s votes, I’ll be in Big D over the weekend at the All-Star Game. It’s gonna be fun, and I’m looking forward to trying to give back to all of the fans who voted for me. Thanks, you guys.

I’m outta here. Peace out.

  6. Dwight I know that the trip to South Africa was spiritually enlightening for you.I know someone told you you have to lose something to win something.Keep takeing these adventures as much as possible.I have a feeling you will learn somethings that will stay with you for the rest of your life. You will find that you have some mental powers that you didn’t know existed.I like to talk to elderly wise people they can tell you so many things even about yourself that you didn’t know.Yes the commercial was great. The game was great. You are great and Ill be watching tonight Thursday and Allstar weekend. As I said before I put in my vacation request to come to 2 games in Orlando now all I have to do is hotel and other arrangements.Take care.

  7. TBNs “more than conquerors” with AC Green wants an interview. We have people in Orlando, Dallas, LA.

  9. djh says:

Hopefully you guys as a team can flip that switch for good because it is soooo entertaining and satisfying as a former bball player, to see that kind of play. When you guys play hard and unselfish, you are unbeatable. Period. Nothing else needs to be said. I’ll be at the cleveland game.

  10. nancy valiente says:

  11. Rontora says:

So first off I want to congratulate you on your win yesterday. You guys as a whole played a very great game. It was as you said a statement to yourself and your team that as long as you work together and keep focused you can come back and prove to everyone you deserve to win that ring as much as anyone. I want to see my team do big things it’s a great thing. Now as for the commercial it was awesome. I loved seeing you break the back board it was an amazing sight. I was so excited about you guys coming to Cleveland until I realized that I couldn’t get a ticket. It sucks because I have been looking forward to this game since I found out that you guys were coming. But the money I had saved up for the ticket I had to use for my son as you probably know we do for our kids not for ourselves. Still makes me wanna cry though. Just being honest with you like you always are with us. AS a single mom I don’t get much time to myself and this game was gonna be it. I love the Magic’s. You guys are my team and it just sucks that I can’t see you guys play. It’s like when you want something so bad and its right in front of you but you can’t reach it. Seems to be the story of my life. Well you got to stay focused. The dream is right in front of you. Something always say to encourage my friends is Positive Thoughts Creates Positive Results. I’ll be rooting for ya this Thursday as always…even if it is from home :( still sad about it. Have a great game tonight. Keep them double double’s coming.

  12. Inez Bottoson says:

Dwight, I will be at the Q in Cleveland, cheering for u. I love the commercial.

    Love u Superman

  13. MJ says:

Commercial was sweet! You will have a blast in Cape Town, South Africa. Its a fantastic and beautiful place to visit, but you definitely need to study up on soccer before going, especially for the world cup. They know whats up.

  14. Alyssa Hooper says:

Dwight, You are the epitome of what the NBA refers to as: “AMAZING” That commercial left me speechless! I was upstairs eating dinner and ran down a flight of stairs just to see it on the big screen! LOL. and speaking of “Staying Tuned” for you coming to a city near me, I live in Cleveland and you will be here on Thursday and I am trying my absolute hardest to get tickets to your game! They are SOLD OUT on the NBA site..so Im trying to bid on some tickets on there secondary Market at Cavs.Flashseats.Com. I would LOVE to come to the game I have never seen you play before in person. I watched the game yesterday against Boston and everyone else lost faith in you guys but I DIDNT! I knew you would pull through..Boston lost all hope and motivation by the 4th quarter and you were amazing despite your early foul trouble. Anyway, I surely hope to be at the game on Thursday but its not looking too good…yet.. With you, the SKY IS THE LIMIT and I’ll never forget “For all things I have strength the strength by virtue of him who imparts power to me.” Philippian 4:13. If theres anything you could do to help my friend and I to get tickets that would be sooooooooooooooooo appreciated!! and have fun and be safe in South Africa!! and Have fun making many more commercials!!

Just have to comment on last night’s game against NOH. Wow. If that was a preview of the playoffs… Whew! Great game. Nice set of picks for Vince in the third quarter! You all adjusted and took advantage of what the defense gave you. Kudos for not forcing what wasn’t there. You looked pretty good at the free throw line too! I know those last two free throws disappointed you but good job anyway Big Fella! :)
