Heeeeeyyyyyy worrrrrllllddd!!! What’s up everybody? Back from the All-Star Game and ready to jump start this stretch run to the playoffs. We all know that now is the time to sharpen our focus, clean up some of our inconsistency and make a real push to get ready for the postseason. We’ve talked all year about trying to win a championship, so now it’s time for us to start having the focus and effort every night of champions.
Let’s talk about the all-star game. I had a so much fun. The whole weekend was great. That was one of the best all-star games I’ve ever played in. Playing before 108,000 fans was incredible. Someday I might tell my son that I played before the largest crowd to ever watch a basketball game, but he would probably just be happy that his dad got to play ball.
Not sure if you guys saw my record shot or not from Saturday at the all-star game, but I am now the Guiness World Record Holder for the longest shot while sitting down. I made one from 52 feet-six inches and I got a plaque for drilling the shot. Ya’ll know I like to try all kinds of crazy shots before games, so that one was a lot of fun. I knew I could make it, but I just needed a couple of tries to get the distance right.
I had four other great memories from all-star weekend:
1. Ya’ll know I’m a spokesman now for McDonald’s so I went one day and worked in a McDonald’s in Dallas. I made some burgers, made some French fries and I even learned how to make hot chocolate. The people in the store were cool and we just had a good time together. It was a lot of fun.
2. I got to hang out with some of the kids from the Make-A-Wish program before the game, and that’s always special to me helping kids who are going through a hard time have some fun. I took a couple of the guys around the locker room and let them meet all the all-stars and get their autographs. Those kids are so tough and they inspire me.
3. Ya’ll probably saw me make that 3-pointer in the game, too. Everybody was shocked, but I wasn’t. I’ve been putting in a lot of time before games and after practice shooting with Patrick Ewing and trying to expand my shooting stroke.
I make dozens of threes every day in practice, so it wasn’t that surprising to me that I made one in the game. Ya’ll don’t believe me, ask Derrick Rose and C-Bosh if I didn’t beat them in a 3-point shooting contest before the all-star game? They were mad that a big man like me beat them and they could see how much work I’ve been putting in on my shot.
4. And then there was that H-U-G-E HD replay board that they had in Cowboys stadium. I told the guys on our team that I might want get one of those for my house. If I had one then I could see myself playing NBA Live or Madden on a really big screen. I could put it across the back yard and I could sit in my room and look out at TV. Now that would be cool!!!
Anyway, thanks so much to all ya’ll for voting me into the All-Star Game. Hopefully, I represented you well. Maybe one day I can win the MVP of the all-star game, but my focus is more on getting that championship. Raising that NBA title trophy over my head is what I want more than anything, and I’m going to do my best to bring it home this season.
Pray for us!!!

Hi Dwight, that was a great and special All Star Weekend..
Just because of the record amount of people that attended the All Star Game. To me the best part of the All Star Weekend was the Game, because it was at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium. THe Saturday Festivites was okay but hopefully at the 2011 All Star Weekend the Dunk Contest will be a little more exciting. It was kind of dull and they didnt put much into the dunks. You brought the dunk contest back the last two years and it was not
the same seeing you in it…But thats great you all give your week off to the fans and spend time to give autographs and different charities..Just keep up the good work. Right this is the 2nd Half of the season and its gonna roll around fast..So try to make it a goal to win every game..Then the playoffs, thats exciting..We will be rooting for you and We Love U..
I just want to say I love what you do for the community. You send a positive message wherever you go and that’s rare. Thanks for what you do. That’s it.
Hey Dwight… Man I love your humility. You are just a genuine guy and I appreciate that and that is why I follow you. That 3 pointer shot during the playoffs was sweet!
I love the McDonald’s commercial as well.
As the song goes, you were “All the way TURNT UP” this NBA Allstar year and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I wish you were in the Dunk contest but hopefully you will do something next year. I follow you on Twitter and Facebook! Keep doing what you do sweetpea!
take care!

I think you are sooooo blessed to have experienced all of those things…& I also think it is really cool how you go out and bond and chill with your fans…Most Celebs dont do that…You have a great personality & I love that! [I have also experienced it first hand when i met you in Atlanta] Also dont worry bout what other people have to sat about you. People are going to talk. And I think you let it get to you and sometimes affect the way you play. Just keep doing what you are doing and God is gonna bless you with more that you could ever imagine! Be blessed! -Jaque

I really wanted to bring my nieces to your appearance at the Mc Donald’s in Dallas this past weekend but the weather precluded me from doing so. You brought so much camaraderie, personality, laughter and humor to the NBA All-Star game. In my opinion, you set the standard for what an NBA player should exemplify, as it is a privilege to play for the NBA. I also appreciate that you use the platform of the NBA to spread joy and happiness into so many people’s lives. Please continue to keep up the hard work while positively influencing the world with your smile, sunny disposition and humility. Your due diligence will soon result in you raising the Larry O’Brien trophy for the city of Orlando in June. *Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”

My first highlight was meeting u, then the game. Watching the close game come to the hands of the East. And ur shot…..man u got skills. Good luck on the second half.
Dwight, that was a great performance you and the Eastern Confernce All-Stars put on this past weekend. What I really enjoyed is when you took it coast to coast and took off from almost at the free throw and jammed. That was also so a nasty alley-oop you caught where your head was at rim level. I know coach Van Gundy doesn’t want you to shoot threes in the game but you should try a few when you guys are in a rout.
thx dwight for stayin with Orlando!!! you dont understand i am one of your biggest fans!!
you did so good at the all-star games this year…just missed you in the dunk contest!! thats why it sucked so bad this year lol…. you lebron and wade need to b in it nxt yr! real talk! keep your game up and lets win that championship for O-TOWN BABY!!!! <3
Hey, I watched the all-star game for the first time. Actually kind of like a basketball for the first time and you are like the funniest man I know. From the dance at the beginning when you guys were called upon, until the very end. You are my favourite NBA player. Goodluck. I was hoping for you to win the all-star MVP
Hey Dwight! It was nice seeing you close up in person at the T-Moblie Hoops Zone and Adidas Court at the Dallas Convention Center during All-Star weekend. I was an MVP Volunteer for the All-Star Jam Session festivities and I had the BEST and EXCITING experience of my life! Your sense of humor, benevolence and great appreciation towards people shows how a respectable and affable individual you really are. Dallas has so much LOVE for you, Dwight!! KEEP SMILING MY BROTHA!!
We are all very proud of u and all your accomplishments =) im a huge Orlando fan but most of all Im your #1 FAN!!!!!!
oh and did i mention im from L.A… lol but my team is MAGIC!!!!!!! KEEP UP THE HARD WORK!! i’LL BE WATCHING
Continual Fervent Prayer – Got Ya! Reach the pinnacle of the mountain, its highest point, the title awaits U there. Be Blessed

Dwight. You are the single sweetest person in the NBA. You’ve been my favorite player since you got drafted and being from Minnesota I still watch every game I can of you. You bring superb athleticism to a position that’s not used to it and with the help of Ewing you have turned into a great low post scorer aside from your ferocious dunking. You are such a good guy and I love you bruh!! Go get a championship!!! God bless.
hey,man.you’re cool!
Congrats on your Guiness record and 3 pointer
What you do for kids is great!!! it’s so rare now. You’re great man Dwight. Wish you all the best.
PS. thanks for accessible writting that makes me understand everything U write:)
peace!!
Hy Dwight!!!
I liked me your 3-point shoot and your dunks in the All-Star Game!!!
Dude. You broke the guiness world record shot not only sitting down, but… left-handed! That’s crazy. Then you go on to the game to shoot the three right-handed. :O
I am praying for and with you too…for the NBA cbampionship. I think you and the team deserve it – you in particular. Just keep your mind focused and your heart trusting in the Lord; and keep doing what you do best on the court. It shall be well.
Congratulations on the All Star NBA weekend. I could tell that you all had fun being there, just as much as I had fun watching. Your 3 pointer shot was amazing – I was like “its about time…” And your plays with LeBron James and Dwayne Wade were out of this world. I applaud you, my brother! God bless.
Dwight ,
I’m glad you had a great time at All Star , you did your thing in the game . Keep smiling I love that about you . Congrats on your long shot , your the BEST !!
~*HEEEYYY DWIGHT!!!.. WHAT’S CRACk-A-LACKIN HOMIE!!!.. LOL.. but that shot you made was SUPER RAW!!!.. and you got a plaque for it.. that’s what’s up.. but i’m happy that you had fun at the **ALL-STAR** Game.. also i LOVED how u helped out at McDonalds and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.. meeting children that’s apart of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is something that i want to do someday because their strength encourages me to be stronger everyday.. you know??.. inspite of what they’re goin through their still grateful.. which makes me so grateful for everything that i have.. you know??.. but that was wonderful what you did.. but i am praying for you and your team to win the Championship this year (i’m kinda in my feelings still because ya’ll didn’t get it last year.. but that’s okay).. but just keep praying.. believing.. having faith.. and trusting that GOD will answer your prayers.. okay??.. but if this helps, i say the Serenity Prayer every morning and night at the end of my prayers and it helps me get through those hard times when i wanna give up.. but i know that i can’t because i know that GOD has a purpose for me and giving up just means that i allowed the devil to win and I REFUSE to let him win.. you know??.. but my point is that i encourage you to say either a prayer or a scripture everyday towards whatever you want to happen and just watch GOD BLESS.. things that you usually get upset about don’t bother you anymore.. you know??.. but just keep that in mind.. but i’m not finna talk your ear off but just stay encourage.. keep smiling.. keep laughing.. and keep doing what you doing because.. GOD LOVES YOU AND I LOVE YOU TOO

great game:) hope to meet you in person some day you seem like a great person.
Cupid has been playing around a lot this month, and that means love is in the air, so when you nailed that shot sitted there on the court you scored big for all of us who really care and want to see you do well, and maybe I couldn’t share a cup of hot chocolate with you, but I am here for you and definitely always there in spirit. I realize how important it is to think in this manner, and I wish I can continue to grow in my thinking so that I can really share true wisdom with everyone who comes in contact with my words. You are a big guy, so I’m sure having a screen that big would still look small to you, and I really hope that you never loose sight of the ability to realize that all the big things are nice, but sometimes more love is shown in small and small things like little notes, so anytime you get one I pray it warms your heart. As far as that championship, you have already won even if you never wear the ring because in the same thought frame from you about your little one……you got a chance to play in the game(s). You are a winner.
Dwight! I just got engaged! Gonna have to miss the Cavs game today because I have to coach. I’ll be sneakin’ glances on my phone! Please get a win for us!
Hey Brother,
Kinda funny, I just landed in Orlando for the week and saw an article on the plane about you and your blog. We’re traveling around right now doing some encouragement and equipping in a couple churches in FL. My wife and I are from DFW area originally but are currently a Christian missionaries in East Asia. I’m also do some ballin’ in the country I’m in and wanted to encourage you with a couple truths God has shown me. Sports put us on a stage that give us an amazing opportunity to put the Lord on display…or put our pride on display. I’ve had to make time specifically before each game I play to fix my eyes on Jesus and make sure I’m alright with whatever outcome of the game, but I also ask for grace to do what He has for me that day. It’s fair to say that the same principle of God giving “grace to the humble” but “resisting the proud” applies when we play just as it does in our lives in general. So, be encouraged brother! Let’s make it our goal to give Jesus the attention that He so lovingly gives us.
Love watchin’ you play bro – keep doin’ what you do!
