A slightly frustrating night

Heyyyyy woorrrrld!!! Y’all probably know by now that I had a bad one last night against Miami and my streak of double-doubles ended at 20. But hey, we got the win and at the end of the day that’s all that really matters.

I’ve been telling my guys for weeks that everybody on this team has to step up their game because I was going to have a down night sooner or later. And when I was struggling against the Heat, I was so glad to Marcin, B-Bass and J.J. play as well as they did and Rashard kind of broke out of it since he’s been struggling.

I’ve kind of had to learn on these nights when I can’t stay on the floor because of fouls that I have to trust my teammates to get the job done. We have a team with a lot of weapons and on those nights when I’m not that effective I just have to tell myself to keep playing hard and trust my teammates.

Getting into foul trouble can be very frustrating. It’s easy to get caught up in the emotions of it. Of all people, D-Wade actually helped me keep my cool out there on the floor. One time, I was so mad I was about to fire the ball all the way up to the planet Krypton. D-Wade actually told me to not get so frustrated and just take it out on our next opponent.

On a night like this, I just kept telling myself to keep my head and remember the big picture. My teammates are going to need me down the stretch and I have to be smart about it. I can’t afford to be picking up any more T’s the rest of the season.

Well, we’re in Philly on Monday night. We have the craziest schedule right now. We just got off a two-game roadtrip, we played at home one game, then we go to Philly, come home for one game, then go back on the road to Jersey and then we’re back at home to play the Lakers. That’s the life of a pro athlete and you’ve gotta love it. I’m just trying to get my rest and not let all this travel catch up to me.

Well, I’m outta here. Hit me up on Twitter and Facebook. Peace out, ya’ll.

Hi Dwight Im from Costa Rica and I just want to let you know that you are a great athlete and my wife and I admire you.
You need to be calm like Dwade told you, you are a great player.

Hang in there Big Fella! :) I remember the moment when you were about to fire the ball to the planet Krypton. Haaaa! I’m laughing with you, not at you because the refs get on my nerves too and I’m just watching. However, you did the right thing. You have enough technicals and you don’t want to get penalized. We need you on the floor. Kudos to Dwayne for helping out an opponent.

Everyone has bad days so don’t sweat it. Rest is very important so hopefully you can get some regular sleep and recharge. I kind of feel sorry for Philly because they won’t know why you are whipping up on them so bad. They are going to be like “what did we do?” :) They don’t know you are rebounding from a bad game. As always have fun tonight and do you, Big Guy.

That’s funny how D. Wade told you to take it out on your NEXT opponent. lol Don’t worry about not getting that double/double. Most players in the league would be happy to have half as many as you do right now. I know you will finish strong. You are Superman, right! ;)

  4. OfficialEdgar says:

keep playing hard Dwight! you guys have a great team!

  5. Miss Smith says:

Yeah those nights are rough especially after a hot streak like you had, you have the right idea stay focused on the game, keep faith in your teammates that they will step up and fill the gaps which they certainly did…congrats on the W the streak is comin back with a vengence, just pick it up where ya left off!
Just wanted to stop by and leave a few words of encouragement…off to twitterland.

    A “super” fan,

    Miss Smith

~*HEEEYYY DWIGHT!!!.. WHAT’S GOIN ON?!?!?.. but as u experience last night, we all have those days/games where nuthin goes right.. but the thing that we have to remember is the lesson that we get from it.. as much as we want to get upset we have to remember that allowing our emotions to get the best of us when we’re not on our A-game, could hurt some of the people who we love and care about and i know that’s the last thing we want to do.. you know??.. i saw the game and i have to agree that your team mates or your support system/backbone did a really good job by picking up where you lacked and i think that was wonderful because it shows how much of a team you guys are by showing what y’all did last night, if that makes sense.. but i want to encourage you to keep your head up because like i said we all have those days/games.. and you just have to keep your cool in the midst of everything.. you know??.. but continue to keep GOD FIRST and remember GOD LOVES YOU AND I LOVE YOU TOO :-) *~

I know it’s hard Dwight, but you have got too stay focused and not let your feelings get in the way of what your trying to do,think with your brain and not your heart it’s easy too confused the two.You can’t let emotions control you it can get you in trouble people would love too be in your spot right now,so pray about it at least your living your dreams one patty moment can ruin everything your team mate needs you and you need them also with that said keep your head up.

Yo Dwight! God bless you brother, I love your attitude. You are one of the VERY FEW God-fearing men and GREAT LEADERS of the WORLD, AND THEN then you are one of the most talented athletes in the world, you are a TRUE role model and i encourage any person, man, woman or child to watch you work because your skill and attitude is exactly what there is not enough of in the world today. I was born and raised in Atlanta so i have watched you closely through the years from high school phenom to promising rookie, to the BEST BIG MAN IN THE NBA and i just thank God for you.

I am a Hawks fan (sry) so i pray that the Hawks shock the world and win the East this season, but if not, i pray for you, Dwight, to get back to the NBA Finals and WIN, no matter who comes out the west.

    God bless you

  12. I was glad to see you so in control.I know its hard but most of the time when you look back you think. Why did I get so upset its not going to take away the fouls and it could cause an even worse consequence.I’m glad Dwayne was there for you.Your teammates seem to look out for you too.Trust in them.I know that is hard but that is why its called a team.I knew Jermaine would try to get you to be rowdy but it backfired.I prayed before the game that he would not succeed.I saw what he did in the other game trying to push you from behind.Have a good game tonight Ill be watching tonight and Wednesday and Sunday.Bye sweetheart.

You know when I look at you I see someone with the drive and determination to do and be whatever you want to be. I have seen you lead your team to victory. You are Blessed and it warms my heart to see you be a blessing to your fans. I love watching you play because I love seeing the love for the game come to view. Remember when you’re frustrated and feel like things are just not going the way you wanted them too. Just learn from it and move on. You are a really nice guy and I love that about you. You don’t throw temper tantrums you don’t cuss out the ref or get into it with others. You keep your composure till your out on that court then you release the beast within. It’s a beautiful thing. I think as Christians we don’t realize that with our faith we have to lead as examples. You are doing just that. So today I don’t want to tell you who the real superman is (by the way you know he’s just a comic book character right? lol j/k) or how you got played on the floor. I dont want to say any of that! Today I just want to say thank you. Thank you for talking to your fans. Thank you for lifting our spirits. How you may ask? For me is was one morning about a month ago I was really going through it. I’m divorced 26 and feeling a lil down. ok I was feeling a lot down overwhelmed being mom and dad to my three year old son. I was hurting and angry. And you know what happened? You did. you were on twitter and posted a video. Saying hey world smile. Today is gonna be a great day! and you extended your arms and hugged us lol. I don’t know there was just something about that video that put a smile back on my face. and now I feel amazing. You started that. Just by letting me see that win or lose it’s all about getting back out there and playing the game. So thank you. I really wish I could talk to you more. I would love to get your views on certain things. I don’t know maybe you would like my views too. Well who knows I should go once I start writing it’s hard to stop lol. Have a Blessed day. A remember. You have to be the good you wanna see in this world. :) Rontora

d12, keep rockin out! we need you on the team, so keep your cool. i saw carmelo pick up a lame 6th foul, but in those situations, gotta keep your composure.

It’s all good brother, I’ve got faith that you’re gonna bounce back. Stay mentally focused and continue to build up your teammates. This is gonna be a tough stretch, but nothing is impossible! You guys have all the pieces to the puzzle available to you to really deliver this year. Last year was just a taste. Finish strong. Get the cake!
    One Love, Peace.

  17. Goldenstaes says:

  18. Alexander Hsu says:

Dudeee, don’t you worry, it’s just ups and downs once in a while.
When I was in high school, we nearly defeated the best basketball team in my hometown because of my great performance that night. I was a junior. However, a year later, I had two great positions and had to skip practices. I was no more a starter. I was kinda frustrated and took it on my coach. He benched me for the year and I had scored 0 points in my senior year. Our team sucks to the extent that we lost all of the games in our senior year.
Well, my story told me that I shouldn’t have taken some ups and downs too seriously and take it personally on my coach. Similarly, you, my boy, should just suck it up and play well next game. You’ll be aite.
    peace.

  19. misz. quala says:

heyyyy dwight you guys played a great game as a team everynight will not be a good one for you or some1 else as a player but as a team you guys hold each other down and stick 2gether and in the end that’s all that really matters.

it seems like you feel that you must hold the weight of the entire team night after night and that seems kinda crazy 2 me lol what im trying 2 get u 2 know is that somenights u will have off nights its not always gonna be d12 double-double and that certainly does not take away from you or your game at all. u r an amazing highly talented ball player who got lucky enough to b team leader if you continue to lead them in the direction they must go, they will always have ur back thru the good n the bad it’s a bond silly :-) you guys have that.

also you can not loose your cool i mean u set the example for all of us out here that love u n look up 2 u… sumtimes when i wanna burst i take 10 and think of how dwight would handle the situation… would he trip not at all so u see if you start tripping then we start tripping so just do us all a favor n keep it cool, calm, and collected like ya sweet n humble self— it just makes the world a better place baby :-)

good game tonight i wish you guys the best i will def. be watching n rooting God bless you all peace~~ ps. can u please log onto twitter after the game tonight u did not lastnight i was waiting don’t leave ya girl hanging 2night lol

  22. Chase Mathew says:

Good to see D-Wade help out. After all he is going to be in a Magic uniform next year ;]

On a side note your have to work on your mental Game D. You cant be selfish and pick up silly T’s. It makes you look bad ans hurts the team. If were going to win the championship this year we all have to win as one.

    Stay strong and Go Magic!

  23. Sand J says:

Hey! I think you still played a wonderful game last night. You are the only reason I watch basketball any way, so I doesn’t matter if you have a excellent game or not you are still the best in the NBA to me.
No single person always have a good game. As long as you stay humble you will always be the best!!!!!
    Keep up the good work.
