My E-bay auction, meeting Brandon and my big announcement!!!

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Heyyyyyy wooorrrrrrlldddd!! We got us another win in Cleveland yesterday and we’re in Indiana tonight. We didn’t play great on Sunday and I’ve got to admit it was kind of a letdown for our team when the Cavs didn’t play all of their guys, but a win is a win.

If we win our last two games, we’ll finish with the second best record in the NBA. That could be really big if we get back to the Finals again because it wold mean we would have homecourt advantage. Trust me, after starting in the Finals in LA last spring, we want to be in Orlando if we get there again. That could mean all the difference in the world. We want that championship so bad, so we’ll take any advantage that we can get right now.

I got a lot of stuff for you guys that I need to mention today, and I don’t really even know where to start.

First, here’s the memorabilia that we’re putting up on E-bay for the next seven days for you fans. Remember, a big chunk of the proceeds from this is going to fund the scholarship program for my summer kids basketball camps in Orlando and Atlanta. Here are the items:

My All-Star jersey.
Four Commander T-shirts.
A complete pair of SM TS Bounce Commander shoes.
Two complete pairs of TTS Bounce Commander shoes.
And another complete pair of AST NBS Bounce ARTI shoes.

I also wanted to tell you guys about getting to meet 21-year-old Brandon Young the other day at our practice. Brandon suffers from Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy and he’s blind in one eye. He got to hang out with us at practice the other day and I took him out on the court to shoot free throws with me.

All of the things that Brandon goes through on a daily basis, I don’t know I could handle it if I was in his position. But it’s so great to see him smile. The affect that we as professional athletes can have, sometimes we don’t realize what just saying “hello’’ could have an impact on someone’s life.

Brandon was so excited and jumping for joy, just being out there with us, making a shot and meeting all of the guys. Meeting someone in his position being so happy really had an effect on me the last few days.

We have to be thankful for living and having a good life. I was just thinking how life could be a lot worse and we complain sometimes over the little things. But here’s a guy who is 21 years old and he has a lot of things going on health-wise and instead of him pouting or acting upset, he’s smiling and having fun.

So maybe that’s today’s less for all of us: Be happy with what you have and realize how fortunate you are.

And my last thing today is telling y’all about the announcement that I will be making Tuesday night at Adonal Foyle’s Charity Gala Dinner. It’s going to be huge. We’re going to make an announcement about helping some people in need, and we need y’all’s help too. There will be some hot prizes and a chance to meet yours truly if you get involved.

So check back here on Tuesday and Wednesday and we’ll give you more info on the big announcement coming Tuesday night at Adonal’s gala.

Peace out.

Reminder about my Ebay Auctions

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Heyyyyyyy worrrrrrld!!! What it is, what it is???

Got us another good `W’ on Tuesday against the Clippers at home. Did ya’ll see your boy’s fastbreak assist when I looked like Magic Johnson making the dish? Everybody on the bench and in the crowd went nuts when I made that pass. Folks go crazier over that sort of stuff now than they do for a dunk.

Wanted to tell you guys again about our auction that we’re having because it’s good some new autographed stuff and some gear from the all-star game back last month in Dallas. Remember some of the profits from this auction are going to provide scholarships for underprivileged kids to my summer basketball camps in Orlando and Atlanta. It’s for a really good cause, so I’m hoping you guys snap up all the stuff real soon.

Here’s what we got this week up on e-Bay. Remember, the name is DwightStuff12:

Autographed NEW White Home Jersey
Autographed NEW Dwight Howard All-Star Jersey
AST NBA BOUNCE ARTI NEW complete pair (3)
NEW SM TS Bounce Commander complete pair (2)
NEW AST TS Commander Howard Superman Edition complete pair

My game-worn stuff on e-Bay

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Heyyyyy worrrrrlddd!!! Just want to remind you guys that we have some of my game-worn memorabilia on e-bay if anybody out there is interested. And I know some of y’all are considering how y’all fight over my shoes and jerseys when I throw them in the crowd after games. Some of the money from these auctions will go to fund scholarships for my camps this summer.

When we go on roadtrips, our guy Sid brings along extra shoes and jerseys for me because he knows I get a kick out of giving them away to fans. I love seeing the looks on kid’s faces when I give them a jersey or hand them one of my Adidas shoes.

I like wearing a new pair of shoes to every game, so I might as well give them away. Remember how good a new pair of shoes felt when you were a kid? I always felt like I could dunk on a 15-foot goal when I had a new pair of shoes.

Anyway, here is the stuff that we have now on e-Bay. We’re about to add some of the gear that I wore in the All-Star Game in Dallas soon, so ya’ll keep a close eye out for that.

Here’s what we’ve got in the auction:
3 Autographed Jerseys
6 Commander T-Shirts
3 Complete Pair–TS BOUNCE COMMANDER
2 Complete Pair–AST TS Commander Howard
1 Complete Pair–AST TS Commander Howard LT Finals Edition Game 2
1 Complete Pair–AST NBA Bounce ARTI

Remember my Ebay name is Dwightsstuff12.

Alright y’all. Take care!
