Magic's Dwight Howard Can See Andrew Bynum's Improvement
Orlando's budding superstar, just 21 himself, can tell that the Los Angeles Lakers' 19-year-old center is making his presence felt.
Both were drafted into the NBA out of high school.
One is listed at 7 feet and 285 pounds, the other at 6-11 and 265. One celebrated his 19th birthday last October. The other turned 21 last month.
But that's where the similarities end between New Jersey-bred center Andrew Bynum of the Lakers and his shorter, slightly older counterpart, Atlanta-bred Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic. The two lined up against one another tonight in Staples Center and, if arrangements can be made, plan to train together this summer

Howard, thrown right into the starting lineup by the Magic after being taken with the No. 1 pick in the 2004 draft, is a rising star in his third NBA season, the leading scorer and rebounder for a team sitting atop the Southeast Division.
Bynum, the 10th pick in 2005, is a work in progress. He is a starter by default, filling in while
Chris Mihm and
Kwame Brown nurse injuries.
But he's a comer.
Says who?
Says Howard.
"He's a great young player already, a big body," Howard said before Friday's game. "He's a lot stronger than he was last year. I think for him it's just a matter of [gaining] confidence. I really like his game. Seeing him in the McDonald's game to now, he's a totally different player."
He seems more confident?
"He does, especially when he gets the ball in the post," Howard said. "One of the things that he does that I didn't do when I first got drafted is demand the ball in the post. I've seen him demand it when we played against them. That's one of the things that you've got to do if you're a big guy, especially a young big guy."
Magic Coach Brian Hill also noted Bynum's development.
"I think he's improved dramatically," Hill said. "He's a big body, he's long, he gets good post position down inside. He doesn't hurry anything down in there, which is typical of most rookies when they come into the league. It's obvious the coaching staff has done a good job with him. He's a presence in there."

Bill Walker will need to steady his perimeter shot. Competes and won't give an inch. We yet to see anyone intimidate Bill Walker.
NBA Future:
