Dwight Howard News...

"For most of these kids," says the elder Howard, "the only thing they've had in their hands is a basketball. We'll have barbecue grills, we'll fish and play badminton."
There's one hard and fast rule for campers and NBA stars alike: No cell phones, no Blackberrys and no video games for the time they are at the campsite.
"I know not having a cell phone or video games will be the hardest on one kid," Howard Sr. says, laughing.
That would be Junior -- Dwight Howard, 19.
"Dwight Howard was on that cell phone all day. They can all sit and complain or go have fun," Dad says. "This will be fun."
Dad wants Dwight to leave the whirling lifestyle in which Dwight Howard has gravitated -- the world of pro basketball -- behind for a day.
Dwight Howard wants to see a 6 foot-11, 260-pound badminton player hitting a shuttlecock back and forth with the kids.
And along that line, Dwight Howard wants Dwight to take a course this summer at Atlanta Christian College -- "Basic economics," Dad says -- and read a little from a book of his choosing every day.
"I want him to go to a class, embrace his mind. Read up on current events," Howard Sr. says. "I want Dwight to know what's going on in the real world."
You can't blame the father for wanting his son to slow down and smell the campfire.
Dwight Howard knows what's up ahead for Dwight: the unrelenting, breakneck race to reach greatness.
The success-starved Magic consider him their future foundation and are looking for more from their prized rookie next season.
The NBA, always searching for its next marketable star, will have its eye on this dream teen's development.
And young Dwight -- who has been on this track since elementary school -- has an insatiable drive to be among the best who ever dunked.
The pace is about to pick up, along with the pressure.
