Wallace said he has talked to Howard several times about diversifying his game and developing a stronger rapport with his point guard.

"I look at that team and I think Dwight and Jameer [Nelson] will be here longer than anyone, that's in my opinion. They should get that pick-and-roll down, like a [John] Stockton-and-[Karl] Malone thing, where they are really a threat with it. I told him, 'It could make you a force.' "

Pistons remain confident

The Pistons, with a 3-0 lead in their first-round playoff series with the Magic, didn't sound too worried Friday about the Magic pulling a rabbit out of their hat in Game 4 today. They believe their experience, which is vast, will carry them through anything the Magic can throw at them.

"There is nothing they can do that we haven't talked about," Pistons Coach Flip Saunders said. "Whether it's going small, going big, going with more zone or more pressure, our team already has seen it. At this point in a series, when a team tries to go to its second or third choices, it doesn't play to their strengths."

Although the Pistons fell behind early in Game 3 Thursday night, trailing by as many as eight in the first quarter, they never flinched and never thought the Magic could sustain the lead.

"They made a run early because of what we did. We turned it over three times; Rasheed missed a dunk -- that's what fueled their offense. It wasn't what they did; it was what we did," Saunders said. "That's how we play."

Howard 'out of his rhythm'

Both Wallace and Saunders said they could see frustration on the face of Howard when he was bottled inside for the third consecutive game in this series. One of the reasons for the frustration was that the Pistons had a variety of men to use against him, including Chris Webber, Wallace, Antonio McDyess and Dale Davis.

"I could see the frustration a little bit. When you have five or six guys coming at you -- and they've all got six fouls to give -- that will get you frustrated," Wallace said. "It got him out of his rhythm."

Howard averaged a team-high 17.6 points during the regular season, but he has averaged 10.7 against the Pistons in the playoffs.

"It was one guy after another coming after him," Saunders said. "He didn't have any room to breathe."

DeMarcus Cousins has a 7'3" wingspan and 9'0" standing reach. DeMarcus Cousins is very raw. DeMarcus Cousins needs to work on his footwork and decision making mostly. DeMarcus Cousins offense is coming along fine, but he needs to become more of a leader on defense. DeMarcus Cousins consistency is also a problem against top competition.
