You Asked dwight answered, Q-AND-A April 17, 2009 – Check out the blog for past q&A’s

Away we go with more questions submitted by you, the fan, for Orlando Magic all-star center Dwight Howard. D-12 was kind enough to sit down with us again this week, as he does every week, and answers questions from his faithful fans.

Remember you can submit your queries for Dwight at questions@dwighthoward.com. Dwight will answer some of the questions each week here on the site, so remember to check back for the Big Fella’s responses.

QUESTION: I’ve been a Magic season ticket for 14 years. I know you have a great bond with Jameer Nelson, but who is your best friend in the NBA not on the Magic? – zoelbc@cfl.rr.com
DWIGHT: I’d have to say that it’s Carlos Boozer. We developed a great relationship over in China for the Olympics. We worked out together each day and he’s just a really good dude.

QUESTION: Who is your favorite film star in movies right now? – Pui Yuk Leung
DWIGHT: For the male, I’d go with Will Smith. Female, I’d have to say Jessica Beal.

QUESTION: How does it make you feel going back to play in Atlanta, your hometown? — Renee
DWIGHT: It’s always fun for me playing back there. I get to see all of the fans and people that I grew up around, going to the gym and playing ball with them as kids. Seeing them again makes it a lot of fun for me.

QUESTION: What was your favorite subject in high school? – Brittany Brandt
DWIGHT: I’d have to say it was always something to do with science. Since was always my favorite thing to learn about. Biology was the coolest subject I thought.

QUESTION: How old were you when people first recognized that you might have NBA talent? – Connor Burns
DWIGHT: I was 10 years old. That’s pretty young, right?

QUESTION: Do you have any pets and what are their names? – Steff Nicols
DWIGHT: All of these are dogs. Gunner is a German Shepard, Nemo is a Chocolate Lab, Princess, Precious and De-Bo are Cane and Corso. Destiny is a Cocker-poodle. And Sky is another Cane and Corso.

QUESTION: What inspired you to make that Beyonce “Single Ladies” video on the site? – Elisa Marquez
DWIGHT: I was always doing the dance, and it always makes my teammates laugh. When we’re on the plane and we play some Beyonce, I stand up and do the dance with the speakers on and the flight attendants will do it with me. It’s just something to do to have fun.

QUESTION: What is your favorite thing to do in Orlando on an off day? – Brian Verner.
DWIGHT: Sleep, that’s it.

QUESTION: What advice would you give to high school students who constantly state that their goal is to become a NBA player? – Tina Fletcher
DWIGHT: Keep your priorities in line and make sure that you always have something to fall back on because the odds of making the NBA are so slim even for the best young players. If kids with talent really want to make it in the NBA they have to stay disciplined in their practice habits and school work. You have to make a lot of sacrifices in going out, hanging out with your friends. You have to live in the gym and make the commitment.

QUESTION: Which is more satisfying to you – Making a great post move or a thunderous dunk in an opponent’s face? And if you could choose any NBA not currently on your team to play with, who would it be? – Josh Hunt
DWIGHT: Well, usually my great post moves end up in a dunk, so I guess I would pick both. No, I like making great post moves better. As for any player I’d like to play for, I’d have to say Dwyane Wade. That dude is just so good and I think we could be great playing together.

DWIGHT: Thanks everyone for all of the great questions. Keep them coming and check back each week for the Q-and-A. Stick with us in the playoffs. We need your support to help bring that `chip’ back to O-town.
